When your phones battery is low what do you do? You run to go find the charger and charge it up right?
Well... how about you give YOURSELF that SAME priority. Don't allow yourself to run on empty. Self-care is so important to maintain a healthy relationship with yourself, it will help to boost your confidence, produce positive feelings, build your self esteem and keep your stress levels minimal so you can function at full capacity.
Self-care is not selfish. Self-care is self-love. You are nourishing your soul, body and mind when you can give those parts of you your full attention. Self-care will allow others to see you at your best and authentic self. When you take care of yourself regularly you will show up with the best, healthy version of yourself, you won't show up exhausted, overworked or a frantic person who had no time to take care of their needs.
5 ways I personally keep my self-care intact
1. Exercise - Exercise is probably my number 1 self-care routine which I do daily. It raises my endorphins, gets me feeling happy and confident within myself.
3. Burn incense and sage - This is very therapeutic for me, it gives a sense of calm, positive energy and peace within my humble abode. Plus it purifies the air from any toxins or bacteria.
4. Dance - I love to have some fun and dance especially with my daughter as that is also her favourite thing to do. One way of letting it all out and expressing is through dance.
5. Sleep - Sleep is important for our bodies as it helps us repair and restore our organ systems, including our immune system our muscles and various other hormones.
