I monitor my weight with a smart scale that gives me different metrics: BMI, body water, lean muscle mass, weight, BMR (estimate), bone mass etc. 💪💪💪
But in Monday I noticed myself holding off on having my post workout protein so that I could get a lower number in my weight category on the scale...ummm WHAT?!
Let's recap, for some reason my brain told me that I needed to see a lower number on the scale....WHY?! Eould that number have validated me? No! Would that number have made me a faster runner? Nope! What about would that number have made me instantly lean and fit? Hell no! So why did I think that I needed that validation? The short answer, I had been conditioned to think that if my numbers were smaller it meant I was better. 🤯🤯🤯
The F$# % kind of thinking is that??
There is no one I am trying to impress with my number on the scale. Not a single person will love me less. Not a single person will think I'm a better athlete. Not a single person will want me to coach them just because a of something on a scale. The scale doesn't show your worth. The scale only shows your pull from gravity to the Earth.
Once again for the people in the back THE SCALE DOESN'T SHOW YOUR WORTH. THE SCALE ONLY SHOWS YOUR PULL FROM GRAVITY TO THE EARTH.
So let's all agree and commit with each other that we won't allow this little square on the floor to have power over us. We won't allow it to control our lives or our thinking. And we certainly won't allow it to tell us when it is or isn't ok to eat! Deal?
