Photo by @coryrichards  | Myanmar, also known as Burma, is the largest of the mainland Southeast Asian states. During an expedition for National Geographic in an attempt to climb Hkakabo Razi, my team and I passed through Myanmar to access the base of the climb. It required buses, motorcycles, and eventually an arduous approach on foot. Pictured here, one of the many transportation scenes from our journey to the base of Hkakabo Razi. Shot #onassignement  for #natgeo.  Follow me @coryrichards  for more #travel , #adventure , and #culture  from around the world.

Photo by @taylorglenn  | The October hunter's moon rises beyond Morning Glory Spire in southern Idaho. I really love creating images of the full moon in juxtaposition with an interesting landscape. It requires a bit of research to figure out your positioning and then some luck with the weather. I was grateful for a beautiful evening to make this photo! Photo by @stephen_matera  | Waves crash on a rocky shore at sunset in Hawaii. The Hawaiian archipelago was formed by volcanic activity from an undersea magma source called the Hawaiian hotspot. The chain of islands formed over millions of years; the northwestern islands are the oldest and most eroded, while the southeastern islands, including the island of Hawaii, are younger and more active volcanically. Kilauea famously erupted in May 2018, wiping out neighborhoods and towns. Lōihi Seamount is an active submarine volcano about 20 miles to the southeast of the island of Hawaii that geologists expect to rise above sea level between 10,000 and 100,000 years from now.
